Cells to Ecosystems: Weds to Fri - Oct 24th and 26th - We need helpers on Netarts Bay for these three days - 5th graders - plankton and microscopes! It's a whale of good time!!!

Saturday - Oct 6th - Coastal Adventure trip!!! to Cape Kiwanda in Pacific City. Stop at Whiskey Creek Fish Hatchery and Jacobson Salt. Focus on local geology, marine ecology, and pastries from Grateful Bread Bakery

2017 End of Year Trip 2017!!! Sat June 3rd ~ 9 a.m. - 8 p.m. Here it is...a fun-filled day in Portland doing activities!!! Sky High + food + Japanese Gardens + Oregon Zoo = aweeeesome! You MUST fill out the Sky High waiver if you are under 18 and bring a valid form of I.D. to jump...or you will be watching us have fun for an hour. End of Year Dinner - Sci Club and FNRL Friday - May 19th in cafeteria RSVP Here (respond with how many in your family will be attending - it is super quick and easy) 6:00 p.m. Helpers needed to set up as soon as senior project presentations are done ~ 2 p.m.

Life in the River: film screening Tues May 31st ~ 6:30-7:30 p.m. Journey’s End is an 18-minute video capturing underwater behavior and spawning of wild chum salmon, chinook salmon, coho salmon, and Pacific lamprey in several rivers and creeks on the northern Oregon Coast. Salmonid Life Cycle Monitoring on the NF Nehalem River is a documentary about monitoring activities conducted by the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife on the North Fork Nehalem River.
Bird Watching - Seabirds Saturday May 15th - 9 a.m. to 12 a.m. Mr. Sapora will be leading this trip - meet at the Netarts Bay Community Center in the morning for a short introduction and then head out to Cape Meares to look at seabirds!!! Show up or come along and help-out...meet at THS at 8 a.m. to help.
Birding and Blues Festival - Pacific City April 29 - May 1 Click on Event Descriptions and Field Trips to read descriptions. You will be paired with a trip leader and be their official field trip assistant!!! Kinda like a Jedi in training gig. Saturday April 30 helpers x5 will be needed from 7:30 - 10:30/11:00 a.m. A shorebird trip from 11-1 as well for one helper. Sunday May 1 helpers x3 will be needed from 7:30 - 10:30/11:00 a.m. and helpers x2 from 11-1. If you sign-up, we will need to schedule a couple group training sessions on how to use the Bird Guide books.

4th grade Geology Field Trip Thurs - Feb 25 10:45 - 3:00 x6 helpers needed PSU - Science Department & Campus Tour Thursday Feb 4th - 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. This will during the school week and will be a full-day field trip. Seniors are first on the list and then, if there is room, juniors can sign up. 14 max for this trip. MUST HAVE PERMISSION SLIP signed - ask Sapora
Cape Lookout HIKE Saturday, Jan 30 from 9-Noon Meet in front of THS and dress for wet weather. Bring good shoes, drinking water, and a snacks. Bus fits max of 14 passengers.
Bake Sale Bake your favorite treats and donate them to Science Club so we can raise money for awesome adventures! Sale will be held on Thursday - Jan 21st - during break and lunch.
Jane's Tree Helpers Help Jane on her science research project measuring trees! Saturday - Jan 23rd - from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Rain or shine we are taking a van up into the hills and bonding with mother Earth...or something like that.
